The next article is also concerned to the theme cinema. It is published on the website, but unfortunately it has no the date of publication and the name of the author. The article is about a famous film "2012", the premiere of which was in 2009.

The theme of that film is very close to the other Roland Emmerich's (the director) films: Independence Day (1996) or The Day After Tomorrow (2004).
The film explores the idea of a global doomsday event coinciding with the end of the Mayan Long Count Calendar's current cycle.
The film goes through every American film cliché: Cusack as a father so busy with his job that he has no time to dedicate to his children; Danny Glover as an idealistic American president; Ejiofor as the man who cares about people's rights; Platt as the man who cares only about himself; and Woody Harrelson as a man who saw it all coming but was thought crazy.
I had watched it twice already with the tears on my eyes)To say the truth this film is just another film about Americans saving the world.

Digital Cinema - A Wise Move?
AUTHOR: YANIK GRUBER

The article published on the website  is headlined " Digital cinema - a wise move?". The author of the article is Yanik Gruber.

Many people who worked on Star Wars Episodes 1 to 3, which were all shot and produced digitally will say that digital  cinema is a really wise move as it saved thousands by shooting digitally, whereas directors would have spent millions shooting on celluloid film.
Making the movie on a digital camera makes editing and post-production way easier and definitely way cheaper, as well. Post production is so easy that even movies shot on film are digitized so that they can be edited digitally.
And that's where the entire problem lies - it is too expensive to convert theaters for digital projection.Digital cinema can be a wise move. Let's just hope it starts moving a bit faster soon.

Only in 1927 the first ever full length talking movie appeared.
In 1935, the first feature-length colored film was created using a three-color strip technology called Technicolor. The film was Vanity Fair and it was produced by RKO.
The next major achievement in the history of Hollywood cinema was in 1939.
The following film appeared: Gone with The Wind, The Wizard of Oz, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, Of Mice and Men, and Wuthering Heights.
Technological advances in 1953 paved the way for wide screen cinema.
One of the most groundbreaking movies for special affects was produced in 1977 - Star Wars.

In the past few years, Hollywood has favored producing sequels and remakes as opposed to creating new material.Movies like Harry Potter, Superman, and Lord of the Rings have rallied people back to the theater.
So, I think its interesting to learn about the development of the Holiwood cinema for everybody and this article is really worthy reading.
